Week-29

Published on 4 January 2025 at 10:56

Hi Everyone! Wow! Welcome to the start of the 2025! May your new year be filled with good blessings, joy, and happiness! I wish you all nothing but the best! :)

So without further ado, I'll proudly begin my notorious Faces of Silicon Valley News! :)

1) Intro to the News:  Since, it's the new year, I'm not following my regular News Frame which covers the same topics but with new news. However, I am creating a new frame for the new year! :)

Not entirely new though, since it does cover the same topics, but you'll see some differences! Speaking of the news, my last blog posts mentioned creating a news broadcast or a news show for every week. I have the basics figured out on Canva. But I'm still trying to brainstorm ways to portray all important information without going overtime (my limit is five to seven minutes ) but so far the introduction to the video is turning out to be pretty exciting! Let me know in the comments if you guys have any idea/experience creating a news broadcast/show! I'll be happy to reach out and collaborate with you. Any help you give us will be credited if published!

Additionally, as a reader any ideas on how to make news/blog posts/or any other aspects of this website, more interesting? Feel free to respond to these questions, appropriately in the comments.

2) More About the News:  I'm working on creating a "weekly broadcast" to go along with the Faces of Silicon Valley News! Any ideas or tips! I've already built the "Pilot," episode on Canva, but I'm looking to see better, free platforms to create it on! As of now, I'm just including the usual news, but let me know if you guys would enjoy funny tidbits. At our school, we have a weekly broadcast and sometimes there are funny things included like campus questions. So I was thinking, I could feature the top three comments from the previous week's blog posts, and use that. Also, if we go further into this project, how man of you would enjoy having the video links embedded within the blog posts, or would you prefer a separate page for these "episodes?" So many questions! I might send out a poll to our weekly readers.

3) Blog Stuff: Blog topics! Ideas needed! If you've ever seen Mystery Science Videos, should I do something similar to that? Like at the end of my "episodes," should I send out a poll, and you guys choose the top three topics, you'd like a blog post about? Let me know in the comments! :)

Speaking about blog posts, our last blog post was about Types of Learners, and before I ended that post I promised all of you, more improved quizzes to configure which type of learning style fits you best! Although, those have already been created, took a lot of coding, I've decided to put those blog posts off for another time. Creating the code was fun to do, although creating the tutorials will take me a lot more time. Which is why I've decided to create a series of blog posts for next month or so. The blog posts will mostly be covering tutorials on how to code your own quizzes and games with the examples being the Types of Learners Quiz. So it'll be another one of my infamous editions! Just for your information, I've coded personality games for Types of Learners on Python and Scratch. I am yet to figure out how to publish my Python game, so let me know in the comments!

4) Writing Stuff: If you have any writing you'd like our team to take a look at it, send it to us, using the Contact Us Page, or if you're more comfortable, just comment it down below! :)

5) Commenting: Please feel free to comment your ideas, thoughts, comments, or just about anything appropriate! We're happy to connect with more people! This is actually really easy to do! All you have to do is click on one of our blog posts and make a comment! We even have a "Comment Prompt" feature, where you can respond, and share your thoughts. This feature is usually found at the end of blog posts! In fact, last week I left some pretty inquisitive comments about some new steps I want to bring to Faces of Silicon Valley, please check those out, and let me know your thoughts ASAP! It's always good to respond to the comment prompt, and share your thoughts. This way we can ensure that everyone has a voice and we'll be able to forge and connect new communities!! So make sure to comment, even if a week has passed! We will still be happy to reply to your thoughts and connect with you!  I actually went on an entire tangent on how to navigate comments, here, at the bottom: https://free-5178417.webadorsite.com/blog/2276799_week-25

Speaking of features, remember our "Random Facts!" Somewhere in our blog post, we share a random fact! Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for one of those! Let us know if you have any thoughts on the random facts! And remember, if you or someone you know would like to be involved in Faces of Silicon Valley's Interview Process, just let us know, and we'll be happy to get back to you!

6) Interviews: This is such a big and pivotal part of our website, it's how we connect with others! Please contact me if you'd like to be interviewed! Remember, your age or occupation doesn't matter! A little while ago, we met with two star athletes! If you don't what I'm talking about, I highly advise you to check out their stories on our Community Stories Page! Remember, you can be featured just like them! We make sure that all our interviewee applicants get a chance to share their stories at some point! Whether that be tomorrow or in a couple of weeks, we'll try out hardest to ensure that you will get a change to be a part of our journey!

So as a review, you can be interviewed, if you're a student, a worker, a cook, a young or old entrepreneur! Basically if you want to share your story with the community, here at Faces of Silicon Valley! We'd love to hear your story! Just contact us using our interview application process: https://forms.gle/CAGsioU2V2QaLeCo8 or using our Contact Us Page!

7) New Page_Gallery Glimpse!: This should be the last of our first 2025 Faces of Silicon Valley News! With the edition of a new year comes a new page! I love taking photos, especially of nature, cool buildings, flowers, animals, art, and pretty much anything else! So I decided to share this, in hopes to create a platform where not only I can share my photos, but many other aspiring and talented photographers can share their work too! Photography is such an amazing tool that we can have! It's an ability to preserve memories or bits of life that just seem pivotal and beautiful to remember. In fact, did you know that the oldest surviving photograph, "View from the Window at Le Gras," was taken in 1826 or 1827 by Joseph Nicéphore Niépce.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~without further ado, i share the first blog post of 2025!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
* my favorite--a poem!!
Bio: I have only grown up in one place, my entire life! It's such a pivotal place for me, and I often wonder of others perceptions of the place! But for this poem, I wrote about all the things I love about this city. The downtown, the nature, the city, the food, the parks, the swings, and the people. It's all home for me, and it's all I'll ever need!
The Meaning of Saratoga
By: Shivali H. Patra
Words are just letters
Pieced together like a puzzle
Its Meanings,
just more than the simple descriptions of words
The meaning of Saratoga
Is of a hillside residing near a quiet river,
But to me….
Saratoga is the place I’ve always known as home
The little city with its small unique little shops lined up against each other
The city home to all kinds of trees
The city where education is valued more than anything
Saratoga  is the place I’ve always known as home
A place where others stop to help one another, before helping themselves
A place where others aren’t afraid to change if it makes a difference
Where people gather together
Enjoying those little moments of life
The moments that make life so beautiful
Whether it’s taking a stroll with your family
Or watching a stranger play a melodious tune in front of the symbolic Memorial Arch
Saratoga is the place I’ve always known as home
What does Saratoga mean to me
It means more than just a hillside residing near a quiet river
It means home, it means family
The warmth it emits
The happiness I feel looking around this wonderful city
The memories I’ll always have
A community I’ll always be proud to be a part of
Saratoga is the place I’ve always known as home
