Part One Order of Operations/A Faces of Silicon Valley's Online Community Member's Guide/Manual_Miscellaneous

Hiiii Everyoneeeeeeee!!! Hope y'all had a splendid weekend! This week, will probably be a SUPER SHORT BLOG POST. It's about the Order of Operations here at Faces of Silicon Valley. No, it's not like the order of operations you need to know in math, though if anyone wants to learn anything about those Order of Operations, contact me and I'll do my best to help out! :)

So unlike our usual blog posts, I'm not going to start off with our Faces of Silicon Valley News, because honestly this blog post is all about us, here at Faces of Silicon Valley! :)

Some of our longer readers may remember this but our newcomers probably haven't read this post. Basically, back in July I wrote a blog post that was like an info-base for new comers--that was during Week-06. Here's the link, if you'd like to check it out: https://free-5178417.webadorsite.com/blog/1947258_week-06

But obviously, we've expanded a LOT since then. I mean we're in Week-21! It's crazy! But I am really glad that I have been able to keep posting and stay in touch with my goals. But with that time, it means there's been a lot of changes and additions to Faces of Silicon Valley. So to make sure we can all keep track of these features and editions of this website, I created this blog post as a helpful tool.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------LET'S DIVE INNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So first, let's start with our home page, this page will probably be one of the simplest pages you navigate. To be honest, most of these pages are easy to navigate, there are just certain features within these pages, that will probably be good to know about :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SOOOOO.....THE HOME PAGEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The first thing you'll see is our gallery. It's a bit small for now, but we haven't even completed our first year as an organization, so obviously it'll grow! :)
You'll also see our mission statements. For instance, our goal to connect others and build stories within communities is a big part of our mission statement. Scroll down and you can read a paragraph about what inspired me to start Faces of Silicon Valley. I talk about my writing and my hobbies. Finally at the very bottom, you can check out previews of our blog posts, it's a simple yet effective way to log onto our weekly blog posts, curated specially for our readers! :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~NEXTTTTTTTT.....THE FOUNDATION PAGEEEEEE!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I love this page so much! It's what inspires my interviewees to connect with Faces of Silicon Valley. Which by the way, we have intriguing interviews and stories about different people each month! Make sure to check out our Community Stories page to look into those stories (more on this later!) Anyways, the Foundation Page touches more on the meaning of our mission statements.

I start out with an About Us mini paragraph where I talk more about how it started and what I'm looking to create. Then I talk about my goals for this organization. Remember, my goal can only be achieved with the help of YOU! One of my goals is to broadcast Faces of Silicon Valley to an EVEN LARGER COMMUNITY by creating a monthly/biweekly newsletter. Another goal I have is to erase the stereotype often associated with Silicon Valley. Intrigued? Are you wondering what the stereotype is? Well hop on over to our Foundation Page, and check it out! :)

P.S-I was totally wrong about the Home Page, it is a simple page to navigate, but our Foundation Page is even easier to manage and navigate and check out!!!! :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~NUMBER THREEEE: OUR MOST POPULAR PAGE; OUR BLOG PAGEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This page has got to be one of my favorite pages! I update this page every week and I can't believe how much it's grown! Now, hang on tight for a long ride because our Blog Page has a LOT of features and editions. So first, I'm going to start with the editions.
Every blog post has an edition. Usually, I try to my best to label each week's blog post with the edition. Now, I'm going to make a list of the editions, and a quick description of each of them! :)
* Miscellaneous: These blog posts are usually my most common and my most fun! Lots of readers enjoy miscellaneous posts more than others, and I enjoy writing them! They cover all sorts of topics, ranging from expanders to the great debacle on pineapple on pizza. Make sure to check them out! First one to comment my first miscellaneous blog post wins bragging rights and a special surprise!
*Writing: So I feel like I'm describing the editions in a sort of hierarchy. We're going from the most common blog post editions to the least...haha! :)
These are my second favorite and are posted as often as miscellaneous blog posts. If you didn't know this, I'm still a student and I have a lot of other activities, so I can get really busy. Luckily, during the summer I have extra time to write, so I write poems and stories. The writing editions of our blog posts are posts where I share these writing pieces. They have really fun comment prompts, and it's a great way for readers to share their views and even their own writing! I've had some reach out to me, and tell them they really connect with my writing! It's comments like these that make my day and continue to embody that we strive to create at Faces of Silicon Valley. Sometimes instead of writing the word, "writing," as a header for these posts, I write "poetry" or "short story" or even the title of the piece! :)
* Trailblazing Pioneers: This is our next edition! It's one of my most uncommon blog posts, since I only have on of them...haha! :)
Right now, I wrote a piece about Rosalind Franklin as tribute to her birthday, in July of 2024. But I am having difficulties coming up with famous people to write stories about. But we'll see! My goal with this series/edition is something I've wanted to write along with the people who've done amazing things in Silicon Valley, and beyond. I want to introduce information about people who have shaped history, fought for their rights, made trail-blazing discoveries, or inhibit star-like qualities. We're all stars, but not all of us get recognized, and that's the goal of this series. To shine light upon those of whom we owe a lot too.
* Our Summer Vacation Itinerary "24: This edition is over, it lasted two blog posts, because that's all it needed. It was where I described my summer vacation in detail. I really love this blog post, because after it was unleashed I was contacted by others sharing their experiences. As a writer, it's really wholesome to see people relate to my writing and experiences! I had also built up a lot of hype to the vacation, and thankfully it lived up to my expectations! If you want to see other blog posts relating to the topic of my vacation, they're widely referenced in Week-03 & Week-04, the blog posts written before this edition was unleased. So they built a lot of hype and anticipation to reading about the posts, themselves! :)
Also, sometimes I post two-part blog posts. So the summer vacation edition and this current post fit under the two-part blog post editions. Those are simple but fun yet effective topics that I write about and they're two parts. Too much to write one blog post about, and I wouldn't be able to fit in all the information. At the same time, they're not so lengthy that they need to be a whole series. So actually the heading for this section should've been Two-Part Blog Posts, but for now I think it's fine...loll :)
don't try to comprehend that last sentence, that was just me organizing in my head :)
Anyways that's a majority of our BLOG EDITIONS, there's really two main ones: Miscellaneous and Writing. The other ones like the Trailblazing Pioneers is a a blog edition I hope to expand on, and with the support of everyone, it's possible that the Trailblazing Pioneers could become a big part of Faces of Silicon Valley. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Speaking of comments, how many of you think it would be beneficial for me to start of the conversation on comments each week, mentioning the comment prompts and how I'd respond to them? Let me know in the comments. Actually Fun Fact or part of Didn't Know, Now You Do Feature, is this actually a pivotal moment in brainstorming editions and features that I add onto the website. While I'm writing blog posts, specifically miscellaneous ones, I'm constantly thinking, "Hey, if I were a reader, I'd really love that!" That's why I have the Newsletter at the beginning of our blog posts each week, to help catch everyone up on our community's news. In the future, I'd like to have a newsletter that I can email to everyone, because it's more professional and I'd be able to experiment creatively more with a separate newsletter. I could add cool artistic features and maybe have some young artist in Silicon Valley design it each week. So that'd be a really cool experience! Anyways, as my oldest readers know I often go on tangents, and it looks like this happened to be a tangent...hahahaa :)
So you guys thought that was the end of my blog post explaining? It wasn't! No buddyyyy....that was just PART ONE! But don't worry, there's only one more part remaining. And that's features! We have three main ones:
1) Newsletter: I often start off with a newsletter. Now the newsletter has subcategories:
- What new exciting things are happening in Silicon Valley, and how we're going to correlate that with Faces of Silicon Valley.
- Updates on Interviews
- Rally to get a larger community, word of mouth ---> tell your friends all about the community online, here at Faces of Silicon Valley!
- Introduction to blog post, whether it be miscellaneous or writing or anything else!
2) Didn't Know? Now you do!
I often find it fun to share random fun facts or little tidbits I found out. These are miscellaneous, they're about anything. From science to the little thoughts I have each day about life, you always find something! Now, the trick is to realize when I'm sharing these facts, they're always wedged in somewhere. It's kind of a secret comment prompt (if you don't know what a comment prompt is, read some of our past blog posts, or tune into the next bit!) and you can comment where you found the "Didn't Know? Now you do!" feature.
3) Comment Prompts: I love these! They're how I met so many people who are a part of the community we call, Faces of Silicon Valley. So many people share their thoughts and it's honestly so fun! I love it! I love connecting and talking with different people! It's such an amazing experience!
I often post comment prompts at the very end/bottom of blog posts, because comments are located at the bottom of the page. Lots of people are worried to comment because there's a part that asks for your email, but don't worry that information isn't shared. It's just for me to reply to you individually if you have any concerns or anything you want to chat about. And if you don't want to share your thoughts with everyone, you can always put your name as Anonymous. If you don't want to share everything with everyone, just contact me individually on our Contact Us Page, that form will start a direct email with me and you! I love this community, and I can't wait for it to grow even further! For those of you who don't know, we hit a major milestone! We got our 100th visitor, a couple weeks back and we're up to 500 page visits! I owe it all to this supportive community! I love Faces of Silicon Valley, and all the amazing opportunities it has provided me with! I've met so many new people and learned so much more about people I already knew! This website has also taught me to be a more engaging listener and connect with more people. You know I love a good movie and relaxing, but at the same time I can't sit still for long, I need to be productive. I love how productive and happy I feel when I'm working on my website, and honestly I can't wait to see the places we go, and I'm honored to continue as the head of Faces of Silicon Valley! Our progress is amazing, and I can't wait to go further!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Comment Prompts:

1) What are ways Faces of Silicon Valley can improve? How do you like everything, the features, the blog editions?

2) Suggestions for how Faces of Silicon Valley can expand?

3) What would personally encourage you to take part in online community events such as commenting on blog posts?

* Remember, respond to at least one comment prompt, but you can always go the extra mile and write a response to all three questions! I'd love to see more interest in this section of our community! Anyways, see y'all next week, when we'll delve deeper into the rest of things to know about the website! :)
